Background: Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta delivers life-changing programs that inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Research-based curricula, delivered by trained professionals, equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate media messages; and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Job Responsibility:
The Tutor is a part-time position that is responsible for:
· Providing supportive engagement and instruction to help girls achieve success in an onsite virtual school environment
· Facilitating interactive classroom lessons/projects to girls ages 5-18 that will provide the girls an opportunity to investigate, explore, create, observe, discover, ask questions, and solve problems
· Implementing lessons that will foster an active learning environment which encourages individual and cooperative learning concepts
· Classroom management and the ability to handle situations that involve delicate situations around behaviors of children
· Incorporate interactive, hands-on experiences into the classroom
· Speak knowledgeably about different programs/events offered by Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta
Job Qualifications:
• Enthusiastic team player with a bachelor’s degree in Education, or a related field with 1- 2 years’
experience working in school setting (Instructor)
• Be available to work up to 20
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Effectively interface with parents, staff and administrators
• Serve as a positive role model for children ages 5 -18
• Must be able to pass a criminal record check, child abuse & neglect check, drug test
